Here’s every key moment from Wolves vs Liverpool in the Premier League as the Reds take a trip to Molineux.

Liverpool went to Molineux on Saturday 28th September knowing that a win against Wolves would put that top of the Premier League. That was the result of Manchester City drawing away at Newcastle, dropping points for the second game on the bounce.

Early team news was negative, however - Darwin Nunez has an illness and misses the game. It also appears that Wolves are nowhere near as affected by the virus in their camp as initially thought.

Gary O'Neil named what was essentially a full-strength team to face Liverpool. Few saw that coming after the doom and gloom picture painted ahead of the match.

But Liverpool still went into this one as overwhelming favourites to beat Wolves, go top of the league, and continue their bright start under Arne Slot.

Big wins over Bournemouth and West Ham United send the Reds into the fixture with great confidence, even if there are some difficult decisions to be made.

Liverpool team news

Arne Slot has opted to stick with Luis Diaz as his starting left winger despite Gakpo's sublime performance against West Ham on Wednesday.

Starting XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Salah, Jota, Diaz

Diogo Jota replaces Darwin Nunez who netted a superb left-footed effort last weekend against Bournemouth. The Uruguayan has been ruled out with illness.

Alisson Becker also returns back to the side after being ruled out with a slight muscle injury this week. That was one we all saw coming - Slot had pretty much confirmed the Brazilian was going straight back into the XI.

Key moments as they happen:

38 minutes - Luis Diaz chance!

Might have been a foul in the buildup but Diaz fluffed his lines there. Chopped back inside the defender but it simply went straight to the goalkeeper.

39 minutes - Dominik Szoboszlai chance!

Wow. Should have scored. Szoboszlai is at point-blank range but fires the ball at the goalkeeper. Great save. What a miss.

45+1 minutes - IBRAHIMA KONATE GOAL

A fantastic delivery from Diogo Jota allows Konate to tower above his defender and head home. Brilliant goal.

49 minutes - Mo Salah chance!

Wolves try to play out from the back but a wild one finds Salah. The Egyptian fires it first-time wide of the goal with his right foot.

56 minutes - Ait-Nouri GOAL

AWFUL from Konate. Wolves beat the press and play one in behind but Robertson deals with it. Konate attempts to shield it back to Alisson - but fails and loses it. A cutback eventually finds Ait-Nouri who stabs home from close range.

Diogo Jota hauled down in the box after a cross from Alexander-Arnold.
