Wolves technical advisor Fran Garagarza is set to leave the club to join Espanyol as their new sporting director.
Garagarza had only been in the job for seven months, having been appointed last November with head coach Julen Lopetegui, but is now returning to Spain.
According to the Telegraph, there is currently no plans for a replacement, with Lopetegui having established a close working relationship with sporting director Matt Hobbs, and seemingly set to take a more hands-on approach to recruitment.
Lopetegui is preparing for his first full season in charge at Molineux after accepting the club’s transfer policy for the summer, which involves selling to buy, as seen with Rúben Neves’ £47 million move to Al Hilal last week.
Other players who could possibly leave the club in the coming weeks are Nathan Collins, who is attracting attention from Brentford, as well as Max Killman, Raúl Jiménez, Jose Sa, Daniel Podence, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Jonny Castro Otto.
Wolves’ wage bill has already dropped significantly with the departures of high earners João Moutinho and Diego Costa, who both left the club when their contracts expired at the end of the season.
Adama Traore could also be on the way out, given he is also out of contract and a target for Napoli, but a contract extension still remains on the table for him.
It promises to be a big summer for the club, as they look to change the squad makeup amongst other things.
