Wolves and Stade de Reims have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of centre-back Emmanuel Agbadou (27) according to a report this Friday from L’Equipe. The Premier League side’s outlay for the Reims centre-back reportedly rises to €20m. Football agent Jorge Mendes, whose influence at Molineux is well-documented, has played a vital part in agreeing the deal through his agency.

Vitor Pereira’s Wolves were also keen on Lens’ Abdukodir Khusanov (20) but Agbadou eventually got the nod. The outlet understands that Bundesliga’s VfB Stuttgart were also keen on Agbadou, but Wolves seem to have won the race to his signing. Reims were reluctant to part ways with the Ivory Coast international – which they signed from KAS Eupen in 2022 – after agreeing a contract extension with him last September. Agbadou was under contract with Luka Elsner’s Reims until 2028.
