Wolves have withdrawn from their planned pre-season tour of South Korea.

The Premier League club were set to face Celtic and Roma in a trip the club declared “the most commercially lucrative pre-season tour in the club’s history” back in May.

However, they have now pulled the plug.

“With great regret, Wolves can confirm that the club has been forced to withdraw from its pre-season fixtures and tour to South Korea next month,” a club statement read.

“The withdrawal from the scheduled matches, which were set to take place at the end of July, comes after numerous financial and logistical obligations were not met by the tour’s promoter, Stadium X/USG.”

Wolves will now undergo pre-season more locally as they do not want to disturb the team’s preparation for the new campaign by putting a tour together at short notice.
