Wolves are off to the worst possible start in their FA Cup third round tie with Brentford in west London Friday evening.
Gary O’Neil’s men found themselves down to ten-men inside 10 minutes after João Gomes’ tackle found the back of Christian Nørgaard’s leg.
The Brentford man was forced off through injury after the challenge, and Gomes was sent down the tunnel to hit the showers early.
It was Gomes’ first senior red-card, and it comes at a bad time.
To make matters worse, by the looks of the challenge, he won’t be featuring for Wolves in the next round should they advance.
