Lazio goalkeeper Christos Mandas is reportedly facing an uncertain future following the return of Maurizio Sarri.
The Greek goalkeeper joined the Biancocelesti in the summer of 2023 and served as an understudy for Ivan Provedel when the 66-year-old was in charge. This season, he managed to usurp the more experienced Italian in the middle of the campaign when the latter put on a few shaky performances between the sticks.

By the end of the season, Mandas was the undisputed first choice for Marco Baroni, especially after producing several convincing displays. Nevertheless, his situation could drastically change following the arrival of Sarri, who could restore his old favourite Provedel as the ‘Number One’, explains Corriere della Sera (via TuttoMercatoWeb).
In this case, Mandas would be unlikely to dwell at Formello. After all, he’s considered too valuable to be relegated to the bench. The good news for the 23-year-old is that he remains a popular figure in the Premier League. Last summer, he was linked with a host of English clubs, including Manchester City.
As the source explains, Mandas’s EPL suitors could seize the opportunity to lure him to the English shores, while Wolves have been identified as the young goalkeeper’s biggest admirer. Lazio would be willing to grant the Greece international safe passage if they were to receive an offer in the region of €25-30 million.
If Mandas ends up leaving Lazio, the source expects 18-year-old Davide Renzetti to be promoted to the role of second goalkeeper, as the management might not be keen to sign another senior shot-stopper, especially given the lack of European football next season.
