Adama Traore is not interested in signing a new Wolverhampton Wanderers contract and, instead, looking to impress potential suitors ahead of the January transfer window, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Traore has entered the final two years of his £43,000-per-week agreement but Wolves are looking to make the pacy winger the club's highest-paid player by tying him down to a new four-year deal worth £120,000-per-week.

The Molineux-based side's insistence on wanting the Spain international to commit his future to the club comes after former Wolves head coach Nuno Espirito Santo, who departed by mutual consent at the end of last season, looked to seal a reunion with the winger following his summer appointment as the new Tottenham Hotspur chief.

During the recently-closed transfer window, Spurs were keen to negotiate a season-long loan which included the view to a permanent £40million move next summer.

However, Wolves were unwilling to sanction a loan move and Spurs returned with a £30million bid hours before the deadline.

What has Dean Jones said about Traore?

Transfer guru Jones believes Traore is looking to seal a move away from Molineux when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.

He suggests Traore, who joined Wolves from Middlesbrough after the club met his £18million release clause three years ago, is vying to turn in his best performances to date as he bids to impress interested parties.

Jones told GMS: "I think Traore himself certainly has certain expectations bigger than Wolves in his career.

"But he will be committed and I think he will actually improve his form in the coming months because he will be hungry to get his big break."

How has Traore performed this season?

Traore went into yesterday's clash with newly-promoted Watford having started all three of Wolves' Premier League fixtures so far this term. However, ahead of this weekend's trip to Vicarage Road, he had been unable to contribute a goal or assist as his current employers were yet to find the back of the net under new head coach Bruno Lage.

He also came on as a late substitute in Wolves' League Cup second round win over Nottingham Forest last month.

Traore was called up by Spain boss Luis Enrique during the recent international break and came off the bench in the World Cup qualifying clashes with Sweden and Kosovo but was an unused substitute against Georgia.
