Journalist Luke Hatfield feels Wolves forward Hee-chan Hwang is proving himself to be very effective despite not being the easiest on the eye.

The 41-cap international signed for Bruno Lage's side on a season-long loan deal from RB Leipzig in August, and he has hit the ground running in the Midlands.

What are Hwang's statistics this season?

Hwang did not feature in Wolves' opening three games after only joining the club at the end of the transfer window.

He was quickly into his stride after the September international break, though, coming off the bench to score in a 2-0 win over Watford on his Premier League debut.

The 25-year-old followed that up by bagging a brace against Newcastle earlier this month, and he was on the scoresheet again this past weekend during a 1-1 draw with Leeds.

Overall, he has scored four goals in six league appearances, and looks right at home at Molineux.

What has Hatfield said about Hwang?

Hatfield has admitted that Hwang is not the most elegant of footballers, but he doubts whether Wolves will be concerned by this, given how frequently is scoring goals for them at the moment.

The Express & Star journalist assessed Hwang's start at Wolves, telling GIVEMESPORT: “He just gets into areas, knows where the back of the net is. He doesn’t look the prettiest when he’s on the ball at times. But ultimately, Wolves won’t care if he’s sticking the ball in the back of the net.

“That’s his job, that’s what he’s come there to do. And he’s done just that. He’s got that clinical touch in the box, and he’s not sticking them in the top corner every week, but if he finds a way past the goalkeeper, just keep them coming.”

Does it matter that Hwang is not great on the ball at times?

Right now, it doesn't matter at all.

Hwang is currently scoring the goals that have moved Wolves into mid-table, and while that continues, it will be hard to criticise him.
