Celta Vigo attacking midfielder Fer Lopez is being targeted by Premier League outfit Wolves, who are looking for a Matheus Cunha replacement, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
Wolves had a very decent end to last season after Gary O’Neil was sacked following an abysmal start.
Vitor Pereira took charge at Molineux and they stayed up very comfortably, above last season’s Europa League winners, Tottenham Hotspur.
Wolves have not really done much this summer yet in terms of incomings, but have seen two very significant outgoings.
Brazilian forward Cunha left for Manchester United, while Manchester City signed their star left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri.
Now Wolves have started looking to replace them and have set their eyes on a La Liga youngster.
It has been suggested that Celta Vigo’s 21-year-old attacking midfielder, Lopez, is a player they are keen on.
It has also been claimed that Lopez is considered a long-term replacement for recently departed Cunha.
They had very good experience of doing business with Celta Vigo in the shape of Jorgen Strand Larsen, and now the club are looking to repeat that trick with Lopez.
However, the 21-year-old Spaniard has a long way to go to match Cunha, as he has only 20 Celta Vigo appearances.
Os Celestes renewed his contract last summer, which runs until 2028, and it remains to be seen if Wolves will make a move for him in the coming weeks.
