Wolverhampton Wanderers are looking to sign Dynamo Kiev defensive midfielder Volodymyr Brazhko in the January window, according to Alex Crook.
The talkSPORT journalist claimed on X that Wolves are in talks to sign the 23-year-old midfielder.
At the moment, the details of the deal are unknown, and we’ll have to wait for further updates. Nevertheless, it appears that Wolves’ interest in Brazhko is serious, and that’s why they are in talks about a potential move.
Wolves find themselves 18th in the Premier League table with only 16 points on board. They have not won in their last five Premier League games and lost three in a row.
Vitor Pereira clearly needs some help in the market and bolstering the defence and midfield is a priority for the club.
Wolves have already signed Emmanuel Agbadou from Reims earlier this month, paying a handsome fee of around £16.6 million.
Dropping to the Championship has become a serious concern for the West Midlands outfit, and they are expected to remain busy in the final few days of the January transfer window.
Brazhko has progressed through the youth ranks at Kiev and made his senior appearance for the Ukrainian club in 2019.
He has featured nine times for his country and looks like an exciting player. Brazhko has a contract at Kiev until 2028, so Wolves may have to pay a handsome fee to sign him.
To be fair to Wolves, they have faced Newcastle United, Chelsea and Arsenal in their previous three games, and those were tough fixtures. They face Aston Villa on Saturday at Molineux, and should be looking to get back to winning ways.
If they can reach an agreement for Brazhko, he will become the second major signing for Wolves this window. But there’s still a long way to go before we reach that stage.
