Despite Wolves not having the busiest of transfer windows so far this month, with Hayao Kawabe being the only new player to join the Old Gold, it seems as though Fosun have their eye on completing one particular deal which will surely please Bruno Lage and many Wolves supporters.

According to a recent report from German media outlet Bild (via Sport Witness) Wolves are considering activating the transfer clause in Hwang Hee-chan’s loan contract this month, turning his temporary move to Molineux into a permanent one.

Since arriving in the Midlands back in August, the 25-year-old has bagged four goals in 14 Premier League appearances, four more than fellow Wolves attacker Adama Traore despite the latter playing four more league games than the South Korean this season.

Given his status as Wolves’ current top scorer in the Premier League this season, it’ll surely be a big positive for Lage to have Hwang, who is currently earning £26k-per-week according to Salary Sport, in his squad on a permanent basis rather than worrying about replacing him in the summer.

If Hwang does sign for Wolves permanently, this would give him a great platform to improve his game and get used to the Premier League even more for next season, potentially becoming an integral player for Lage moving forward.

Described as a player who “has got everything” in terms of his abilities on the pitch by Match of the Day pundit Ian Wright, Hwang could be a useful figure for Wolves if Traore does end up leaving the club either this month or in the summer, along with Francisco Trincao returning to Barcelona after his loan deal expires.

Signing Hwang on a permanent basis would be a good deal for Wolves to complete given his goalscoring output so far this season. However, with Lage recently expressing his need to have a new centre-back in his squad, this should be an area where the Old Gold also look to strengthen as they seek to finish the current campaign as strongly as possible.
