Brentford have announced the signing of Republic of Ireland international Nathan Collins from Wolves.

He has put pen to paper on a six-year deal with the Bees, with the transfer seeing two records broken.

The 22-year-old becomes Brentford’s record signing, with several outlets putting the fee paid at £23m, eclipsing the amount paid for Kevin Schade.

The fee is also a record paid for an Irish player – with Collins breaking his own mark which he set last summer when moving to Molineux from Burnley.

The centre-back has 14 caps for his country, scoring twice.
