José has been at the LaLiga club since 2016, finding the net on 62 occasions in 170 appearances including a brace in their 2-0 Copa del Rey win over Cordoba on Wednesday.

The Athletic are reporting that Wolves have an option to make the deal permanent in the summer for a fee of around £22m.

Nuno Espírito Santo has been in need of striking reinforcements after losing their talisman Raul Jiménez after the Mexican striker suffered a fractured skull in the 2-1 win over Arsenal in November.
