Wolves are closing in on the signing of Andre from Fluminense with the midfielder set to undergo a medical at Molineux.

Gary O’Neil’s side have reached an agreement to sign the Brazil international for a fee of €25m (£21m) including add-ons, with Andre set to travel to England to finalise his transfer to the Premier League.

The deal represents a record sale for Fluminense and will be considered a coup for Wolves, given interest from some of Europe’s top clubs in the 23-year-old. Manchester United and Liverpool have tracked his progress, while Fulham have been heavily linked with signing the midfielder in recent transfer windows.

Personal terms have been agreed with Andre set to become Wolves’ sixth signing of the summer window. His arrival will be a timely boost for O’Neil, given the openness of his team during their 6-2 defeat to Chelsea last weekend.

O’Neil had suggested Wolves would not conduct further business as the club look to stabilise their financial situation, following the sales of Max Kilman (£40m) to West Ham United and Pedro Neto (£54m) to Chelsea.

However, Andre looks set to arrive before Friday’s transfer deadline for Premier League clubs and will link up with Brazil teammates Matheus Cunha and Joao Gomes at Molineux.

Who is Wolves signing Andre?

Andre is a defensive midfielder who progressed through the ranks at Fluminense to emerge as one of South America’s hottest properties.

He was named as the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A’s Best Newcomer in 2021, before earning a place in the Team of the Season in 2022. Last year, he was a crucial part of the club’s success in winning the Copa Libertadores for the first time.

At international level, he has won five senior caps for Brazil since his debut for the Selecao in 2023.

Who have Wolves signed in 2024/25?

  • Pedro Lima – Sport Recife (£8.5m)
