According to reports out of Nigeria, Wolves have offered £6.3m to bring in 2019 Allsvenskan Young Player of the Year Alhassan Yusuf from IFK Goteborg.
It’s believed Sheffield United are also heavily interested in the 19-year-old, though their potential bid for the player would not be anywhere close to Wolves’ reported offer.
Yusuf, who already has three assists in four Svenska Cupen matches so far this season, has been linked to a Wolves switch since last September.
The defensive midfielder, who is under contract until 2022, told Aftonbladet nine months ago that he was ready to take the step up to Wolves if given the opportunity.
“It is huge for me,” he said. “I feel ready any moment now (to make the next step) if something concrete turns up. If I get that chance, yes (I will move).
“It would be a good opportunity.”
Should Wolves bring in Yusuf this summer, it’s said that Wolves would immediately loan the player out to Swiss second-division side Grasshoppers.
