With Raúl Jiménez likely to leave Wolverhampton this summer, as Manchester United and Juventus are closing in on the striker, AS claims that Wolves are nearing a deal to sign his replacement.

AS believe that Wolves and Braga are close to agreeing a £25m move to send 27-year-old Paulinho after a 25-goal, nine-assist season in 48 games in all competitions.

Wolves and manager Nuno Espirito Santo must have been impressed during their Europa League group-stage meetings against Braga as he scored in the second of their two match-ups, an entertaining 3-3 draw.

After scoring 31 goals and dishing out 11 assists in 130 games with Gil Vicente, Braga picked up the striker for free in the summer of 2017.

Fast-forward three years later and Paulinho has now been able to help Braga achieve a third-place finish in Liga NOS while also catapulting the club to their second-ever Taça da Liga title, scoring a 90th-minute v Sporting to send them to the final, where they would defeat Porto thanks to a 95th-minute winner.
