Incoming transfer rumors involving VfL Wolfsburg are simply refusing to cease. The Lower Saxon Bundesliga outfit looks set to make several big splashes as the summer transfer window draws to a close. Kicker is currently linking Germany’s green company team with two fresh names.

In addition to Metz defender Sadibou Sané, Wolfsburg are apparently interested in one of Metz’s hot young attacking prospects. Les Grenats have a young 18-year-old Senegalese striker who has already earned his first senior team cap for Les Lions de la Téranga.

The teenage talent even shares a name with a certain Senegalese legend, Idrissa Gueye of Aston Villa and Everton fame. This particular Idrissa Gueye maintains a current €4.5m estimated market value, €3m more than his now 35-year-old compatriot.

Kicker also reports that – in addition to Brentford defender Kristoffer Ajer – Wolfsburg are also interested in Leicester City centre-back Wout Faes. The 27-year-old maintains an estimated market value of €15m and can surely only be acquired on loan if Wolfsburg’s summer transfer politics can serve as precedent.

Wolfsburg have been linked with many footballers plying their trade in England this summer, but often toed a hard line when it came to negotiating purchases. The VfL administrative team backed off in their pursuit of Norwich’s Josh Sargent and Coventry City’s Milan van Ewijk due to the fees being too high.
