Wolfsburg are in advanced discussions to sign 20-year-old Austrian winger Patrick Wimmer from fellow Bundesliga side Arminia Bielefeld, according to Kicker.
Wimmer has a €7m exit clause should Arminia Bielefeld remain in the top flight but if they get relegated, Wolfsburg would be able to sign the Austria youth international for €5m.
Dodi Lukebakio will return to his parent side Hertha Berlin in the summer when his loan expires with Wolfsburg keen on tying up a deal for Wimmer, who has scored three and created seven in 24 games in his maiden Bundesliga season for Arminia.
Wimmer would be the second wide player to arrive at the club following Jakub Kamiński, who arrives from Polish side Lech Poznan for a reported €10m in the summer.
