Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund continue to struggle in the opening months of the 2024-25 season after a frustrating 1-0 loss at VfL Wolfsburg in Round 2 of the DFB-Pokal on Tuesday.

Ramy Bensebaini temporarily spared Dortmund blushes 10 minutes from the end of extra time when the Algerian did just enough to deflect Jonas Wind’s goal-bound header just wide of Gregor Kobel’s goal.

Die Wölfe finally found the upset goal less than four minutes from full-time thanks to the aforementioned Wind with a cool finish under pressure after Marcel Sabitzer failed to deal with a loose ball in the box.

The result consigns Dortmund to its fifth-consecutive defeat away from home this season as pressure continues to mount on Şahin.
