Stefan Lainer marked his international comeback after his recovery from lymph node cancer with a place in the starting XI, before being substituted at half-time. Leipzig’s Christoph Baumgartner scored the fastest international goal in recorded history with a remarkable solo strike after just six seconds, before Andreas Weimann added a second in the 82nd minute to secure victory for Ralf Rangnick’s side.

Switzerland

Nico Elvedi was an unused substitute as Switzerland drew 0-0 with Denmark in Copenhagen. Former Borussia goalkeeper Yann Sommer was taken off due to injury, with current Gladbach stopper Jonas Omlin called up to the squad to replace him.
