Bristol City and Luton Town are both searching for a first Championship win of the season ahead of Tuesday evening’s game at Ashton Gate.

The Robins surrendered yet another winning position against Wigan Athletic on Saturday, though they can be rightfully frustrated by refereeing decisions once again going against them, while Luton were beaten at home by Preston North End.

City’s draw at the DW Stadium earned them their first point of the season while the Hatters are two places above them in 21st with two points to their name.

Nathan Jones’ side reached the play-offs last season and have strengthened in the summer transfer window so despite their slow start to the new campaign, the Robins will know not to underestimate them.

Captain Dan Bentley remains at Ashton Gate despite some links to Bournemouth earlier in the summer and should reprise his role in goal.

Ahead of him, there may be a change to the backline to deal with Luton’s direct and physical style with Timm Klose replacing Zak Vyner at right centre-back.

Kal Naismith’s decision to leave the Hatters and join City in the summer is likely to mean a frosty reception from the away supporters tomorrow evening but he’ll be determined to produce a good performance against his former side.

Centre-back Rob Atkinson and wing-back Jay Dasilva should start again on the Robins’ left side but Kane Wilson may get the nod for his first Championship start as Pearson looks to freshen things up and exploit the space behind the attack-minded Amari’i Bell.

Matty James’ injury means Alex Scott and Joe Williams are likely to be first choice in central midfield but Wilson’s inclusion on the flanks may see Mark Sykes used in attacking midfield.

That would allow Chris Martin and in-form Andi Weimann to start up top once again with Tommy Conway dropping to the bench despite an impressive display against the Latics.
