Le Parisien report that 18-year-old French youth international attacker Wilson Odobert has this evening signed a contract with Premier League side Burnley, who this evening kicked off the 2023/24 Premier League campaign in a match with Manchester City.
Odobert travelled to England earlier this week after being given permission to do so by Ligue 2 side ESTAC Troyes’ owners City Football Group. Burnley will pay Troyes a €12m fee excluding bonuses to tie down the teenager. Odobert has signed a 5-year contract and will wear the #47 shirt.
Odobert joined Troyes last summer straight from the PSG youth academy and was notably targeted by a number of European sides, opting in the end to join the French outfit that is part of the City Football Group apparatus.
Odobert played 32 Ligue 1 matches last season, scoring 4 goals and providing 2 assists in a league campaign that was marred by indecision around coaches and a lack of a clear playing style.
