Brazilian attacker Willian will leave Fulham today when his contract expires, according to Standard Sport.
The Cottagers and the 34-year-old have not agreed a deal for next season, and he will exit the club as a free agent.
Willian is reportedly unhappy at Fulham’s one-year offer. He was hoping to stay at the club but finds their terms unsatisfactory.
The former Chelsea attacker will look for other Premier League offers as he enters the twilight of his career. He has already started talking to other clubs.
Willian’s decision is a massive blow for Fulham, who he joined after leaving his native Brazil.
The winger had returned to former club Corinthians after a disappointing spell at Arsenal but voided his contract with the Brazilian club due to online threats.
Willian joined Fulham on a one-year deal and had a memorable campaign, bagging five goals and five assists in 27 Premier League appearances.
The Ribeirao Pires-born attacker recorded excellent progressive passing and carrying numbers.
He is still defensively sound and tracks back relentlessly to help out his full-back.
Willian made his name at Anzhi Makhachkala and Shakhtar Donetsk before joining Chelsea in 2013, where he became a popular figure.
He made 339 appearances, netting 63 goals and 62 assists across his seven-year spell at the club.
It is unclear where Willian will move to next, but he wants to stay in the Premier League and will likely find offers that interest him.
Fulham boss Marco Silva will be disappointed to see him leave, but the manager’s future is unsure amidst a change of agents.
Silva has a £6 million release clause in his contract that expires in 2024.
However, the Cottagers hope he will snub offers from Saudi Arabia and other clubs to stay.
Fulham could also lose Manor Solomon to Tottenham Hotspur. They want to hijack the free transfer.
