Flamengo have some major decisions to make ahead of Sunday’s crunch clash with Internacional.

Should the Gauchos win, they will claim their first league title since 1979. However, if Flamengo earn the win, they will be two points ahead going into the final day.

Of course, a draw will see the two sides separated by a single point with Flamengo needing to win their final match against São Paulo, while Inter would be required to drop points against Corinthians for Mengão to claim back-to-back titles.

The versatility of Willian Arão has been crucial to Flamengo’s recent success and, despite having to play as a defender as of late, the natural midfielder is happy to play anywhere Rogério Ceni puts him.

“I am an original midfielder, my training is all in the midfield and I always played like this,” he told TNT Sports.

“I am a defender at the moment, but I am a midfielder. Rogério asked me to play the role, he thought that I did well and that my characteristics help his style of play more.

“I am happy to help Flamengo and wherever they put me, I will do my best.”

Flamengo would be Brazil’s first back-to-back champions since Cruzeiro pulled off the feat in 2013 and 2014.
