Liverpool and Manchester United meet at Anfield on Sunday in a top-of-the-table Premier League clash. What starting eleven will Jürgen Klopp go with?

The Reds are currently without Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Kostas Tsimikas and Diogo Jota while it looks like Joel Matip and Naby Keita are also losing their race to be fit for Sunday’s game.

This means Klopp has some huge decisions to make for this fixture thanks to Liverpool’s ongoing injury problems.

Alisson Becker is fit, thankfully, so the Brazil international ‘stopper will continue in goal for The Reds.

In defence, Klopp has his toughest task – deciding on which player should partner Fabinho at centre-half – Jordan Henderson, Nat Phillips or Rhys Williams. Personally, I think Klopp may go with the experienced head of Henderson alongside Fabinho. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson are all set to start in the full-back positions.

With Henderson possibly dropping back, it means Thiago Alcântara is all the more likely to play the ‘6’ role at the base of the midfield. Thiago is likely to be joined by Gini Wijnaldum and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in midfield.

James Milner and Curtis Jones are two more midfielders who are fit but it’s likely that ‘The Ox’ will get the nod for this one.

It should be the normal front three of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mané in attack. Strangely, Liverpool have lacked any real cutting edge in recent weeks (you can’t really count scoring four goals against Aston Villa’s youth team) so that issue needs to be remedied if they are to overcome United on Sunday.

Predicted Liverpool lineup (4-3-3) vs Manchester United: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Henderson, Fabinho, Robertson; Thiago, Wijnaldum, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Salah, Firmino, Mané
