Everton will lock horns with Watford at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon as they focus on picking up maximum points in front of the home fans. The Toffees suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss at the hands of West Ham United last weekend which has halted their momentum ahead of this clash at Merseyside.

Rafael Benitez will set his team up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is not expected to make any tweaks to his first XI. The Spanish head coach will probably go with the same lineup that started against the Hammers in their last Premier League outing.

Defence

Jordan Pickford will function in goal for the Toffees after shipping in one goal last weekend. Michael Keane will function alongside Ben Godfrey at the heart of the Everton defence as they hope to collectively put in a resolute display at the back this Saturday afternoon.

Seamus Coleman will play at right-back while Lucas Digne tries to catch the eye on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will be given the license to get forward and join in on the attack so that they can create some meaningful chances for their teammates up top.

Mason Holgate and Yerry Mina will have to settle for a spot on the bench as they provide cover for the central defensive positions.

Midfield

Allan will function along with Abdoulaye Doucoure in central midfield. Benitez will instruct them to dominate the ball at the centre of the park and feed some decent through balls to the front players. The gifted trio of Alex Iwobi, Demarai Gray and Andros Townsend will operate just ahead of them as part of the Toffees attack.

Anthony Gordon could once again find himself on the Everton bench but could come on to influence the game in the latter stages if needed.

Attack

Salomon Rondon will get the responsibility to spearhead Benitez‘s attack in the injury absence of Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin. The South American sensation needs to find the back of the net this weekend to boost his confidence as he is still waiting to score his first goal for the Merseyside club.
