Jurgen Klopp has suggested Alisson will be fit to face Arsenal, but Diogo Jota might miss the game.

Speaking this week ahead of Liverpool’s match against LASK in the Europa League, Jurgen Klopp gave updates on Alisson and Diogo Jota, both of whom are suffering with injuries.

There had been some talk that Alisson could be out for long enough to see him missing the Arsenal game later this month, but Klopp implied that won’t be the case.

“Both are out (against LASK),” Klopp said. “With [Alisson] it’s a bit lesser, so we have to see… not day by day, he’s not going to play [against LASK], not on Sunday. Probably not the week after, then it should be kind of okay.”

With that timeline, Alisson will miss the game against Fulham this weekend and possibly the games against Sheffield United and Crystal Palace next week.

But the goalkeeper should be back in time to face Manchester United on the 17th, let alone Arsenal on the 23rd.

As for Jota, Klopp seemed less optimistic about the player’s prognosis.

“Diogo will take a little bit longer, we don’t know exactly how long but it’s a bit more severe and we have to see,” Klopp admitted.

With just over three weeks until the Arsenal game at Anfield, it sounds as though Jota isn’t going to be ready in time to face the Gunners. But further assessments should confirm a more exact timeframe in the coming weeks.
