Newcastle United will entertain Brighton and Hove Albion at St. James’ Park this Saturday afternoon as they try to collect maximum points at home in the Premier League. The Magpies secured a dominant 4-1 victory over Burnley recently which should keep them in high spirits ahead of this game.

Eddie Howe will set his players up in a 4-4-2 formation and could keep changes to a minimum for this clash. Thus, we can expect to see Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak lead the line for Newcastle up top.

Defence

Martin Dubravka will feature in between the sticks for the Magpies after shipping in one goal in his last appearance. Dan Burn will function alongside Emil Krafth at the centre of the Newcastle backline as they hope to keep things solid at the back throughout the game.

Lewis Hall will feature as the left-back while Tino Livramento hopes to impress on the other flank as the right-back. Both of them will get the license to get forward and express themselves in the opposition half.

Paul Dummett will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench. However, Sven Botman will be sidelined for this game due to a knee injury.

Midfield

Bruno Guimaraes and Sean Longstaff will operate as Newcastle’s central midfielders as they try to control the flow of the game in the middle of the park. Anthony Gordon could get another chance to shine on the left flank while Jacob Murphy hopes to give a good account of himself as the right-sided wide player.

Joelinton and Elliot Anderson will be named on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second half if needed.

Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson will spearhead Newcastle’s attack on the offensive end of the field. Both of them would be keen on finding the back of the net after getting their names on the scoresheet versus the Clarets recently.

Miguel Almiron and Harvey Barnes will be available for selection on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the latter stages if the Tyneside club are in need of a goal by then.
