Everyone knows that the Africa Cup of Nations is the greatest international tournament there is. Dodgy pitches, passionate fans, lots of colour — it really doesn’t get any better than that.
Despite its indisputable greatness, the Africa Cup of Nations seems to suffer from some recurring challenges. One of those is that due to the frequent political instability on the African continent, the hosting of the tournament always seems to be in doubt.
It has happened several times before that the tournament has been stripped from its original host at the last minute. The 2019 edition has proven to be no exception, as the right to host the tournament was taken away from Cameroon due to security concerns.
The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations may be months away.
But it’s never to early to start thinking about it.
Egypt was selected on Tuesday to host the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
But concerns over their ability to host the tournament have been raised.
Will they be ready?
They have Salah.
They also have good infrastructure.
