Jason Wilcox says our Premier League 2 triumph is the result of collective hard work from across the Academy setup.

Our EDS have enjoyed a superb season and were deservedly crowned champions on Monday night after Blackburn, the only team left who could mathematically catch us, failed to beat Liverpool.

It means City, who have three matches left to play, cannot be caught and have won the title for the first time in the Club's history.

And we have won in style, having scored 68 goals already this term, with Liam Delap the league’s top scorer with 20 and Cole Palmer third with 11.

Academy Director Wilcox, a Premier League winner during his playing days at Blackburn, says the whole football club should feel proud of what we have achieved.

“This is a fantastic moment for the football club and the culmination of so much hard work from all staff across the academy,” he said.

“Enzo and his backroom staff have had an outstanding season, and the results are a product of all the effort put in on the training ground during the week.

“The players also deserve huge credit. The team has won in style, applying the principles this club hold dear: work ethic and togetherness, mixed with open, attacking play.

“It’s a wonderful achievement and we should all be extremely proud.”
