Jack Clarke has found himself in Leeds limbo a month after returning to the club on a season-long loan from Tottenham.

Clarke became Spurs’ first signing in two transfer windows when he joined the north London club in a deal worth a reported £10m in early July.

The 18-year-old was immediately sent back to Elland Road to continue his footballing education but after three matches of the new Championship season, he is yet to play a minute.

In fact, the winger was left out of the Whites’ 18-man squad entirely for Saturday’s 2-0 win away at Wigan.

And according to Leeds Live, the reason for Clarke’s absence is that Marcelo Bielsa is only allowed to name five loanees in his match day squad at any given time.

The squad for the trip to the DW Stadium featured Illan Meslier, Ben White, Jack Harrison, Helder Costa and Eddie Nketiah meaning there was unfortunately no place for Clarke.

Spurs will no doubt be hoping the youngster gets some minutes under his belt soon. If not, there is a possibility he could be recalled to the capital and potentially loaned out to another club in January.

Clarke came through the academy at Leeds and made 25 appearances in the Championship last season, five of which were starts.
