According to reports, tension between Inter and Tanner Tessmann over money and plans is behind the sudden collapse of his planned transfer from Venezia.
The two clubs had shaken hands on the agreement with the idea of making the sale this summer, leaving him on loan at Venezia for one more season in Serie A and then having him come to San Siro in 2025.
However, as the talks dragged on, Venezia director Filippo Antonelli confirmed “the deal may collapse.”
Now Tuttosport are suggesting there are multiple reasons behind the failure of Inter and the USMNT midfielder to agree terms.
Part of it is down to commission and extra payments that his entourage reportedly wanted to complete the transfer, on top of a salary demand that was deemed excessive.
Another issue is what happens next in his career, as Inter’s idea was to send Tessmann out on loan to gain experience and they could not agree on where that would be.
Not for the first time, Inter directors showed they are more than happy to pull the plug on a transfer if they feel the player and his agent are wasting their time or trying to change the plans they had previously discussed.
