Mesut Özil’s relationship at Arsenal is reportedly ‘at breaking point’ with themclub ready to consider offers for the playmaker in the summer.
Özil has missed as many games as he has played this season under Unai Emery after he called off sick for last weekend’s win over Huddersfield.
It means the Germany international has been absent for 18 games this term through a mixture of sickness, back pain, knee complaints and being dropped by the manager.
A story in the Mirror on Monday has claimed that the Spanish tactician is now so fed up with Özil’s excuses that he is ready to let the 30-year-old leave come the end of the season.
The former Real Madrid man was given a mammoth €350,000-per-week contract in 2018 and was handed the captaincy, but Emery has grown tired of the attacker and his attitude.
It’s thought that the Gunners will now listen to offers that come in for the player, but could well struggle to off-load him due to those staggering wages.
