The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona have been put on red alert by the serious injury suffered by Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala over the weekend.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Monday provided an insight into the situation.

For those who may have missed it, youngster Musiala was condemned to a long-term spell on the sidelines this past Saturday.

As much comes after the 22-year-old, following a heavy collision with PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma at the Club World Cup, was confirmed to have suffered ‘a fractured fibula as a result of an ankle dislocation’.

Added to the departure of Leroy Sané, and ongoing uncertainty surrounding the futures of both Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman, Bayern Munich, in turn, are readying an all-out assault on the transfer market.

And unfortunately for the aforementioned Barcelona, two leading members of the Bavarians’ summer wishlist also happen to sit atop that of the Camp Nou hierarchy.

As per MD:

‘The serious injury suffered by Jamal Musiala against PSG will cause Bayern to put even more effort into both Luis Díaz, for whom they already made an offer to Liverpool, and Marcus Rashford, something that will force Barça to act quickly if they don’t want to see any of their targets slip away.’
