15th vs 17th at Old Trafford as Red Devils attempt to put Europa League final distractions to one side
Both of these clubs have endured torrid top-flight campaigns, separated by just two points in 15th and 17th place respectively ahead of a Sunday afternoon kick-off at Old Trafford.
They are fortunate that the bottom three have been so cut adrift in the Premier League this season, or each would have been nervously looking over their shoulders in the final weeks of the season, along with fellow strugglers Tottenham.
But while West Ham have preciously little to show for the thoroughly underwhelming Graham Potter era thus far, Manchester United do at least now have a Europa League final date to look forward to in Bilbao on May 21.
Ruben Amorim will hope that a difficult first few months in charge since succeeding Erik ten Hag in November yet ends in a trophy and qualification for the Champions League, with Spurs lying in wait after respective thumping aggregate semi-final wins over Athletic Club and Bodo/Glimt.
Those hoping to watch Manchester United vs West Ham live on television on these shores are set to be disappointed.
The match was originally supposed to take place at 3pm BST on Saturday, only to be pushed back a day as a result of the Red Devils’ progress into the Europa League semi-finals.
As per current Premier League rules, the fact that it was not selected for TV coverage originally means it is unable to then be shown in its new slot.
