Real Madrid are arguably the biggest, most recognisable club in the world, boasting incredible on-pitch talent and fans in every continent.

So why is there record at home against title rivals so poor?

As per MARCA, in the past six seasons, Real Madrid have won just once in the league against either Barcelona or Atlético Madrid on home soil, drawing on three occasions and falling to an astonishing seven defeats.

Their record against their cross-city rivals is particularly troubling, having not beaten Diego Simeone’s side at home in the league since the 2012/13 season.

If Julen Lopetegui wants to bring LaLiga glory back to the capital, this is an issue that will have to be fixed.
