Paris Saint-Germain rallied to beat Aston Villa 3-1 on Wednesday night at Parc des Princes, scoring three straight goals to take control of the tie ahead of the second leg.

Despite a bright start from Aston Villa, Unai Emery’s side lost their grip on the match. The visitors grabbed the opening goal, but Desire Doue pulled PSG level just before halftime, swinging the momentum.

After the break, PSG took over. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia put them ahead early in the second half, and from there, the hosts never looked back. Nuno Mendes added a late goal to give PSG a comfortable two-goal advantage.

Over in Spain, Barcelona made a statement of their own, cruising to a dominant 4-0 win over Borussia Dortmund to put one foot in the semifinals.

Who is better: Lamine Yamal or Desire Doue?

Dominique Séverac was asked about Désiré Doué’s performance in Le Parisien, but when it came to comparing the Rennes talent with PSG’s Lamine Yamal, he didn’t hesitate—he still favors the Spanish teenager (via Le10Sport).

“Hard to compare with Yamal, who’s still only 17. Yamal is an absolute genius, the current favorite for the Ballon d’Or. Doue is establishing himself as a top talent, though he’s not yet a guaranteed starter for the French national team—even if that could change quickly. Yamal is still ahead, and it’ll be tough to catch up to him.”
