A fresh insight into the transfer saga linking Athletic Club star Nico Williams with a move to La Liga rivals Barcelona has today been forthcoming.

And the news points towards the Barcelona brass as considering their job, for the time being at least, as being done.

The Blaugrana have been locked in negotiations with wide-man Williams’ entourage for several weeks now, in an effort to convince them of the merits of a Camp Nou switch.

The 22-year-old is yet to provide a definitive response to the proposal laid out by Deco and co, but confidence is high that, when all is said and done, an agreement will be struck.

And for this reason, Barca, for the moment, are ready to take a step back.

As per a report from transfer journalist Adrian Sanchez, speaking on Más Que Pelotas, “Nico and Barça have nothing more to negotiate.”

It is concluded that:

“The club expects a response sooner rather than later. At Barça they believe he will sign.”
