Arsenal have a slightly different look for their Champions League round of 16 first-leg tie against PSV.

The two sides face off on the European stage for a third season in a row after being paired together in last month’s draw as PSV overcame Juventus in a knockout phase playoff.

Arsenal, who avoided a two-legged tie by finishing third in the revamped league phase of the famous competition, have won the last two meetings at home to PSV, but have lost and drawn on their most recent trips to Eindhoven.

A similar outcome this season would be enough to seal progression to the quarter-final for the Gunners, moving Mikel Arteta one step closer to ending the club’s five-year wait for a major trophy.

As PSV are the home side tonight, Arsenal will be in their away kit due to a colour clash. However, there’s a slight change to the visitors’ look.

Why are Arsenal wearing white shorts against PSV?

Arsenal are not wearing this season’s all black away kit in its entirety against PSV.

Instead, the Gunners are wearing white shorts with the black away kit

An Arsenal statement reads: "Due to a kit clash, we will wear alternative white shorts in this game alongside our black away kit."

This isn’t the first time Arsenal have worn white shorts against PSV away from home. In fact, they done so as recently as October 2022 during their Europa League group phase encounter.

On that evening the Gunners wore their alternative shorts alongside the popular black away kit, though they lost the fixture 2-0.
