A week remains until Chivas begin their season in Liga MX against Xolos.

Rodolfo Cota left a great void in Guadalajara. Chivas have two options that seem good, however, they are both not at the level of the goalkeeper that now belongs to Club León

Raúl Gudiño arrives with the potential to one day take over as the first-choice goalkeeper for Mexico, although he has little experience leading a team. At 22, he returns to the club where he spent 2006-2014 learning his profession. He spent time with Porto B, also going on loan to  União da Madeira and APOEL.

While at APOEL, he came off the bench for injured Boy Waterman, becoming the first Mexican goalkeeper to ever play in the Champions League.

Miguel Jiménez also longs for his first big opportunity despite being 28 years old and playing in only a few matches as a professional. He was the regular starter in Copa MX matches in 2017 when they won the competition. Jiménez also started the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions League final against Toronto FC, winning the match 2-1.
