No Phil Foden? No problem for Manchester City.
The homegrown playmaker gave more weight to his Player of the Year candidacy with a sublime midweek hat-trick to sink Aston Villa but found himself back on the bench on Saturday as Kevin De Bruyne returned to the starting line-up.
And he reminded everyone, in case any had forgotten among the Foden furore, of why he is such a special talent himself with a magnificent finish to equalise for the champions at Selhurst Park after an early setback.
It only continued his very impressive form this year.
And his manager’s reaction said it all.
Those stats only improved further after half-time too as he added another assist to his collection before joining the Man City centurions by netting his 100th goal for the club.
What a player.
