A leading member of the boardroom setup at La Liga outfit Real Betis has on Monday all but confirmed the club’s interest in Barcelona starlet Vitor Roque.
The name of frontman Roque has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Spain across the day to date.
This comes after word was forthcoming that a pair of clubs have positioned themselves at the front of the queue in the race for the Brazilian’s signature.
With Barcelona having made clear their readiness to part with Roque just six months on from his arrival at the club, Real Betis and Sporting CP have emerged as serious suitors.
Both sides had representatives present in Catalunya’s capital on Monday, to engage in discussions with the Blaugrana over the terms of a deal.
And, late tonight, one such representative made clear his club’s appreciation for Roque’s talents.
During an exchange with the media, in quotes gathered by Mundo Deportivo, Real Betis legend Joaquín, who now acts as a sporting director for the Verdiblancos, explained:
“Who doesn’t like Vitor Roque? He’s a good player.”
