Darwin Nunez was sent off in Liverpool's match against Crystal Palace on Monday night (August 16) - but should the 20% of FPL managers who own the Uruguyan sell him? And who are the best Nunez replacements?

BigManBakar shares his thoughts on the best alternatives for the £9.1m forward, powered by the Hub's data and his stellar FPL record.

How long is Darwin Nunez out for?

As a result of headbutting Palace centre-back Joachim Andersen (£4.5m), Núñez was sent off on his home debut.

The forward will now miss at least three games for Liverpool. The FA may choose to impose further punishment - but may decide against it, given it was the player's first red-card offence of the season.

  1. !

If his punishment stays at three games, Nunez will be ruled out of Liverpool's fixtures against Manchester United, Bournemouth and Newcastle United.

With that in mind, Núñez is an easy sell for me.

I now look at his potential replacements.

Best Darwin Nunez replacements: Gabriel Jesus (£8.0m)

Jesus would be my first choice if you don't have him.

Seven shots in the box, four big chance involvements, 15 penalty area touches with an expected goal involvement (xGi) of more than two were league-leading totals from Jesus in Gameweek 2.

475,000 FPL managers have transferred him in already and his ownership of 75% is only rising.

Such incredible underlying statistics, coupled with an astronomical FPL ownership before he plays two promoted sides in succession, means Jesus has to be a priority transfer if you don't own him already.

It's got to the point where it's too risky to go without him.

Best Darwin Nunez replacements: Ivan Toney (£7.1m)

With the variety of forward options this season, I feel as if Toney is going under the radar.

He's returned in both of his matches so far and put to rest any debate about Brentford's creativity without Christian Eriksen (£6.5m).

Brentford have signed Mikkel Damsgaard (£5.5m), which means Toney has plenty of creative options behind him.

The Bees look to be a team on the up, with the fixture run certainly in their favour.

They don't face any of last season's top four until Gameweek 12. Even the two games they have against the 'big six' in this spell are at home.

All these signs point to Toney doing well in the times to come. With penalties in his locker as well, he'll be looking to beat his stellar tally of 17 goal involvements last season.

Another thing to like about him is that he is completely nailed - which is fairly significant considering the midweek fixtures coming up.
