England Women returned to action with a 6-0 defeat of Northern Ireland in Hege Riise’s first game in charge on Tuesday.

Scorers: White 18′, 23′, 49′, Bronze 29′, Daly 67′, Toone 75′ (pen)

Jill Scott captained England as she finally made her 150th appearance for the Lionesses.

It was England’s first game in almost a year but they showed few signs of ring rust.

Ellen White shone throughout and put England 1-0 and then 2-0 up with some clinical finishing. Manchester City team-mate Lucy Bronze got in on the act to capitalise on some poor defending on the half hour mark

It took White just four minutes of second half action to complete her hat-trick and move on to 39 in an England shirt.

Rachel Daly would add the next…

…before Ella Toone netted on her debut.

There were also debuts for Ebony Salmon, Sandy MacIver and Lotte Wubben-Moy, who featured from the bench, on a very successful afternoon for the Lionesses.
