The third international break of the Premier League season is upon us, but there has been a long list of players who have ruled themselves out of their respective international team squads through injury and fitness concerns.
But there are still several names among Premier League sides who will be taking part in international fixtures over the break. Here’s who will and will not play for their countries…
Withdrew from squad: Declan Rice (England), Bukayo Saka (England), Martin Odegaard (Norway)
Rice and Saka both limped off during the 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Sunday and subsequently pulled out of Lee Carsley’s England squad, while Odegaard has returned to Arsenal having only just come back from an ankle injury which had ruled him out since August.
Not called up: Neto, Kieran Tierney, Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Riccardo Calafiori, Thomas Partey, Jorginho, Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling
On international duty: David Raya (Spain), Mikel Merino (Spain), William Saliba (France), Kai Havertz (Germany), Gabriel Martinelli (Brazil), Gabriel (Brazil), Leandro Trossard (Belgium) Jurrien Timber (Netherlands), Oleksandr Zinchenko (Ukraine), Jakub Kiwior (Poland)
Withdrew from squad: Cole Palmer (England), Levi Colwill (England), Wesley Fofana (France), Malo Gusto (France U21s)
Palmer and Colwill both played against Arsenal on Sunday but have pulled out of the England squad. Palmer has been nursing a knee injury following a challenge from Lisandro Martinez in the draw with Man Utd. Fofana, meanwhile, has a minor knee problem, with Gusto and Colwill also having concerns over their fitness.
Not called up: Axel Disasi, Tosin, Benoit Badiashile, Ben Chilwell, Reece James, Carney Chukwuemeka, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Omari Kellyman, Jadon Sancho
On international duty: Noni Madueke (England), Joao Felix (Portugal), Pedro Neto (Portugal), Renato Veiga (Portugal), Christopher Nkunku (France), Marc Cucurella (Spain), Robert Sanchez (Spain), Enzo Fernandez (Argentina), Romeo Lavia (Belgium), Moises Caicedo (Ecuador), Nicolas Jackson (Senegal), Mykhailo Mudryk (Ukraine), Filip Jorgensen (Denmark U21s), Cesare Casadei (Italy U21s), Marc Guiu (Spain U19s)
Withdrew from squad: Trent Alexander-Arnold (England)

Alexander-Arnold was forced to withdraw from the England squad after sustaining a hamstring injury in the win over Aston Villa. Salah, meanwhile, was not named in the Egypt squad in a boost for Liverpool while Gomez was left out of the England squad. Alisson, Elliott, Chiesa and Jota have all been recovering from injuries.
On international duty: Curtis Jones (England), Kostas Tsimikas (Greece), Caoimhin Kelleher (Ireland), Virgil Van Dijk (Netherlands), Cody Gakpo (Netherlands), Ryan Gravenberch (Netherlands), Dominik Szoboszlai (Hungary), Andy Robertson (Scotland), Ben Doak (Scotland), Conor Bradley (Northern Ireland), Ibrahima Konate (France), Wataru Endo (Japan), Darwin Nunez (Uruguay), Luis Diaz (Colombia), Alexis Mac Allister (Argentina), Jarell Quansah (England U21), Tyler Morton (England U21)

Not called up: Nathan Ake, Ruben Dias, John Stones, Oscar Bobb, Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan, Rodri
Grealish and Foden were among eight players to withdraw from the England squad in total. Grealish’s call up was a surprise given he has still not returned from injury for City while Foden has struggled with his fitness this season. Akanji, Nunes and Doku will also remain at their clubs. Many of those not to be called up, including Dias, Stones, Bobb, Rodri Ake and De Bruyne are because of injury and fitness issues.
On international duty: Kyle Walker (England), Rico Lewis (England), Stefan Ortega (Germany), Ederson (Brazil), Savinho (Brazil), Bernardo Silva (Portugal), Josko Gvardiol (Croatia), Mateo Kovacic (Croatia), Erling Haaland (Norway), James McAtee (England U21)
