Kicking off Round 26, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors take on Gwangju FC. This will see Team K League teammates Park Jin-seop and Lee Seung-woo take on Jeong Ho-yeon. Park started at centre back for Team K League, playing the first 45 while Lee Seung-woo was deployed as the number 10 with Jeong Ho-yeon one of a holding midfield two in a 4-2-3-1. The acquisition of Lee Seung-woo during the summer transfer window was made with the hope that the La Masia graduate could fire the K League giants out of the bottom three. A total of 10 goals for the campaign ranks Lee third in the K League 1 scoring charts, 2.87 shots per 90 ranks him fourth in that regard, and shooting accuracy of 53.85% is enough to sit in the top five.

Park Jin-seop, meanwhile, is back from a two-game suspension following a red card in a 4-0 loss to Gimcheon. The former Ansan and Daejeon man will be hoping he can slot back into Jeonbuk's back line. Park is eighth in K League 1 for aerial duel success at 64% and ninth for success rate in his own box at 65%.

Jeong Ho-yeon, 23, who has had reported interest from Queens Park Rangers and Portsmouth,  is third in K League 1 for total passes but first among non-defenders who tend to make more passes, third for passes made to the final third, third for smart passes, second for deep completions, fifth for through passing accuracy, and third for progressive runs. Jeong and Gwangju FC have eyes on the top six and head into Friday's match knowing that a win would move them into sixth place.

Lee Dong-gyeong, Park Seung-wook & Yang Min-hyuk, Marko Tuci

Gimcheon Sangmu vs. Gangwon FC - 19:30 KST

A a dazzling first-half display for new Tottenham Hotspur signing Yang Min-hyuk, attention now turns to K League 1 and Gangwon's clash with Gimcheon Sangmu. The match is perhaps an unlikely title-race six-pointer with both teams performing beyond expectations in 2024, occupying the top two spots. Gimcheon sit top, two points clear of Gangwon with 13 games to go. Lee Dong-gyeong and Park Seung-wook both started for Team K League, the former as one of the two holding midfielders in Park Tae-ha's 4-2-3-1 and the latter at right centre back.

They'll be tasked with unifying Yang Min-hyuk who has double figures for goals in the crosshairs having bagged eight already this season. Montenegro centre back Marko Tuci played the second half and helped limit Tottenham to just one goal in that second period. The 25-year-old has been a key player for Gangwon since joining a year ago. He ranks second in the division for aerial dual success rate in his own penalty area at 80%, first among all outfield players, and second for total aerial duel success at 69%. A win for Gangwon would move them top of the table while three points for Gimcheon would give the army side some breathing space.

Two very attack-minded players go head-to-head on Saturday when Suwon FC host Daejeon Hana Citizen. Brazilian winger Anderson Oliveira was almost unplayable in that second half against Spurs, leaving Oliver Skipp on the floor in the build-up to the first goal and also having a huge say in the second. Anderson is K League 1's top assist maker thus far with 11 and one goal and is helping to guide Suwon FC to a potential place in the AFC Champions League for the first time in their history. Anderson ranks very highly in a number of different metrics, third for total shots, second for shots from outside the area, first for one-on-one dribbles, first for touches in the box, first for key passes, first for deep completions, and fourth for through passing accuracy among others.

Meanwhile, 17-year-old prodigy Yoon Do-young will be looked upon for inspiration when last-place Daejeon Hana Citizen make the trip to Castle Park. A win will be seen as a must for the Purples so as not to see the gap with safety widen any further. Yoon has two assists this season and has made impactful cameos off the bench with this skill and direct nature. Following Yang Min-hyuk's move to Spurs, eyes will be on K League's young talent more than ever before, so Yoon will be looking to impress.
