Pogba, 27, rejoined United from Juventus in 2016, four-years after famously departing their youth academy.
Since arriving back at Old Trafford, Pogba has endured periods of uncertainty with last summer seemingly signalling the beginning of the end of his United career.
However, after a potential suitor failed to make any concrete efforts to sign United’s star midfielder, Pogba remained with the Red Devils.
With the 27-year-old’s contract set to expire in 18-months time, there have been recent suggestions that the World Cup winner could be offloaded in the summer.
However, in a shock turn of events, not only has Pogba’s form seen a dramatic upturn, United find themselves top of the Premier League table at the half-way mark.
It is widely accepted that Pogba’s recent performances during the first-half of the 2020-21 season have gone a long way to explaining United’s impressive league position.
According to a recent report from the Daily Mail the Red Devils’ hierarchy have not ruled out seeing their 27-year-old midfielder commit his long-term future to the club.
However, the report claims that both United and Pogba are putting contract talks on hold for now so as not to cause any external distractions from the side’s impending title challenge.
It is believed that proposed contract talks will commence at the end of the season.
