All the details on the summer transfer window dates for the Premier League and Football League, including an early mini-window that opens next month.
An early mini-window will take place from Sunday June 1st until Tuesday June 10th. This is designed to allow clubs competing in this summer’s Club World Cup to make and register new signings.
Real Madrid, who have already announced the £50m signing of Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth, can therefore register the Spanish defender for the tournament.
Manchester City and Chelsea are the English sides participating in the competition, though all Premier League and Football League clubs can conduct business during his early transfer period.
The 2025 summer transfer window will re-open again on Monday June 16th and close on Monday 1st September.
England’s governing bodies have mutually agreed for an earlier closure of the transfer window. This summer’s transfer period will close at 7pm, four hours earlier than the traditional 11pm deadline for deals.
The agreement between the Premier League, Football League and FA has been reached to enable more regular working hours for staff across football.
As usual, clubs will be given a two-hour grace period to get deals done, provided the required paperwork is submitted to the FA by the 7pm deadline. Other European leagues are expected to implement a similar time and process.
The dates for the winter transfer window have also been confirmed. Transfer activity will recommence on January 1st 2026 and conclude on February 2nd. The closing time for this transfer window is yet to be confirmed.
