Oliver Whatmuff says he was 'buzzing' to save a spot kick which helped City's Under-19s overcome FC Midtjylland in the UEFA Youth League.
The shot stopper not only saved a spot kick in our shootout against the Danish outfit in the Round of 32 single-leg tie, he also scored City's fifth and decisive penalty to help us win our first knockout stage game since 2017/18.
It was a difficult match which included Ben Wilkinson's side clawing back from a goal behind twice, including a late equaliser which City had to fight tooth and nail for after being reduced to 10 men when Charlie Gray was dismissed with a second bookable offence.
And when the final whistle blew meaning a winner would be determined by a penalty shootout, the limelight turns straight to the goalkeepers.
But it was clear, despite the boos from the 1,500 home fans, Whatmuff was fully focused on the task ahead and completed it in style.
"I'm buzzing because it was the first penalty I’ve saved in I don’t know how long," began Whatmuff.
"And I don’t think I’ve missed taking one in a while.
"I think it’s good because we showed that we can fight for it [the win] despite going down to 10 men.
"Yeah I don't even know what to say to be honest I'm just buzzing. We knew coming into it we hadn't won a knockout game in a while so we just can't wait to carry on."
City will find out our opponents for the Round of 16 on Friday 14 February.
Coverage of the draw will be available on mancity.com and the Official Man City App.
