Outside of legal ‘battles’ Pep Guardiola’s future is the biggest story surrounding Manchester City. The City manager is in the final year of his current contract. But whatever happens in regards to Pep Guardiola’s future there is little doubt that Manchester City will be prepared for whatever their manager decides to do.

Manchester City are a club that is rarely caught off guard. From CEO Khaldoon Al-Mubarak down the champions prepare meticulously. It’s this trait that has helped them rise to power in England. It has also helped them establish themselves as one of European football’s most powerful clubs. The forward planning from Manchester City has kept them one step ahead of their rivals.

It has also seen them move quickly to replace Txiki Begiristain. David Ornstein reported for The Athletic that Begiristain is likely to call time on his City career at the end of the season. Days later Ornstein and Sam Lee reported that Hugo Viana is set to replace Begiristain as City’s director of football. The champions don’t stall when a decision is needed to be made.

Whatever Pep Guardiola decides to do Manchester City will be prepared for both scenarios. That is abundantly clear. If Guardiola decides to call time on his trophy-laden spell at City, there will be plans in place to find his replacement. City won’t waste any time finding a new manager for a new era at the club.

If Pep Guardiola decides to sign a contract extension then City will move on with Guardiola at the helm. Dean Jones has reported for GIVEMESPORT that City are hopeful of getting Guardiola to sign a contract extension.

But whatever happens with Pep Guardiola’s future Manchester City will be prepared. That is apparent based on how well run City are as a club.
